SoftRAID XT is designed to run on disks inside an OWC enclosure and will not work fully^* on disks not in an OWC enclosure.

If you have other disks that you wish to use SoftRAID on you can upgrade to a full, unrestricted version of SoftRAID. Please visit our upgrades page for information on upgrade pricing and application form.

After you download SoftRAID XT, just copy the application to your volume. Then click the application in the applications folder to run it. The SoftRAID application will install all the necessary software the first time you run them.

^*If you install the SoftRAID XT driver and use it on other disks, SoftRAID will report predictive failure, but you won’t be able to use SoftRAID’s full range of features such as: creating volumes, rebuilding volumes, certifying disks, validating volumes. To use these features you will need to upgrade to the unrestricted (non-XT) version of SoftRAID
